As a Medicaid member, you were allowed to automatically keep your coverage due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Based on the new federal law, continuous Medicaid eligibility ended March 31, 2023.
Make sure you stay covered:
- Update your contact information. Visit YourTexasBenefits.com or call 211 and select option 2.
- If you need to renew your coverage, you will receive a letter with instructions.
- Texas Health and Human Services Commission will contact members when they need to renew. The letter will be in a yellow envelope that says “Action Required” in red. If you have a Your Texas Benefits account, you will receive the letter electronically.
- If you are still eligibile, you can continue Medicaid coverage.
- If you are no longer eligible, you have options. You may choose to explore Marketplace options through FirstCare or call 866-522-2515 to speak to a licensed sales agent. Due to the American Rescue Act Plan for 2021, Marketplace coverage can be as low as $0 premium.
